Kay County, OK and Okla. Juvenile Affairs
In my observation of a recent case, Tom Lane encourages juveniles to make their own decisions against their parents. While belittling and making judgements against the parents in FRONT of the teens, “….he should not be held accountable for bad parenting decisions,” Tom Lane stated when referencing a juvenile in a Oklahoma court room. The juvenile had a history of hitting women rather than properly restraining them and violent behavior towards the mother. Tom Lane has no basis and had falsely accused the mother of making more money than she had claimed. While Tom Lanes “assumptions” were false, he continued to belittle the mother in the court room in front of the juvenile as to empower the juveniles actions. “He is old enough to make some of his own decisions,” Tom Lane stated while presenting the Oklahoma case to the court.
In homes where a father is not present due to the father passing away, a step father that ghosted him and set a bad example, and a overworked single mother who doesnt have time to date (introduce a male role model), a child arrived to a court room that encouraged his behavior rather than a courtroom that made assessments “PRIOR” to court orders.
All parents/public need to be properly informed of what is taking place in our court systems.
In my opinion, I believe that all assessments of a juvenile, parent situation, should be done PRIOR to court orders and in absolutely no way is it ever okay to belittle, put down, or endanger someone when you work for the State of Oklahoma. Oklahoma mental health and judicial systems are overwhelmed and at capacity but I am starting to see why.
